Great learning material that accompany's the Beginning Chinese Reader by John DeFrancis. It's a must for those learning Chinese (Mandarin). Textbook is required to correctly follow the audio.

These audio files were transferred from reel-to-reel and cassette tapes. So although these copies are digitized, they still contain background noise which were present in the original files. I highly recommend that you purchase the textbook that goes these MP3s. The book called Beginning Chinese Reader is published by Yale University Press and the author is John DeFrancis. DeFrancis passed away recently, but his works are a masterpiece. You can find many used copies at Borders Marketplace for cheap.
