(my opinion)
It covers the same basic ground as many similar college texts on digital electronics fundamentals leading to microcomputers. There are just enough diagrams to help the text along. The text is not difficult to follow but deserves to be worked through carefully and thoroughly if you are to understand it.

Best not to rely on just this book to learn the basics, but to read it along with several others that cover the same ground.

Out of no fewer than 18 Amazon customer reviews, 17 gave it at least 4 stars out of 5. However, the remaining reviewer gave it one star out of 5, calling it mediocre and saying, "My teacher for my second digital logic class at Cal Poly Pomona said we needed to get this book. I wasted my money. I found it badly organized and useless. The book looks like a printout of a huge word document with a bunch of information copied and pasted. Most of the information and diagrams in this book can be found searching in Google.

The book, "Fundamentals of Digital Logic with Verilog Design" by Brown/Vranesic, which I used in an earlier course was much more organized and clear. My suggestion: Don't get this book. There are much better Digital Logic books out there. By the way, it seems as if the author fabricated many positive comments about his own book on amazon. Weird."
