Die Gliederung orientiert sich an der Problemstellung des konstruierenden bzw. planenden Ingenieurs, dem die Elemente zur Lösung seiner Aufgaben genannt und in Aufbau und Funktion beschrieben werden. Die Grundlagen der Systemtheorie werden vorausgesetzt.
